Dr. Charles L. Raison is a psychiatrist and researcher at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Additionally, he serves as the Director of Clinical and Translational Research at the Usona Institute, focusing on psychedelic medicines for major depression. Dr. Raison earned his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine and completed his psychiatry residency at UCLA. His research explores novel mechanisms in depression and stress-related conditions, receiving funding from institutions like the NIH and CDC. He has published two books, including The New Mind-Body Science of Depression (2017), and his work has been cited over 30,000 times. Before medicine, he earned a Master's degree in English from the University of Denver. Dr. Raison is committed to advancing innovative mental health treatments and the mind-body connection in psychiatry.
